Waverly was launched in 1923 by F. Schumacher & Co., an exclusive European fabric maker at the time. The launch brought beautiful designs into the emerging American market looking for style that was chic and affordable. The very first collection was built on 8 patterns designed by Cy Clark. It was immediately successful, and led to a rapid expansion of designs and product lines.
Waverly’s signature look emerged, which includes the famous Glosheen chintzes, florals, stripes, and plaids. This overall look has become a go-to name in American decor.
The versatility of the Waverly look allows for a full range of home interior options, from upholstery fabrics to wall coverings, window treatments to bedding. At 1502 Fabrics we carry a wide variety of Waverly upholstery and drapery fabric, which is a fine place to build your home’s new look.
There’s a reason Waverly has been a staple in the home decor world for so long. These classic colors and patterns just work so well in any type of room, and with easily accessible fabric samples from our store it’s easy to demo designs to select just the right ones.
