For many of us, Fall (or more formally Autumn) is a favorite time of the year. Decorating with plaid fabric for fall is a great way to welcome the season, enveloping your home in layers of coziness.
There is a reason these patterns re-emerge every October. They are timeless and in the right color, can work in any decor.
Decorating with plaid fabric for fall doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Used sparingly, it will look right year round and come spring, easily blends with brights and other patterned fabrics.
Buffalo checks and plaid fabric are a quick, easy way to inject a design element you won’t grow tired of. One of our favorites is Check Please offered in a variety of traditional and updated colors including coral, spa blue or a classy black.
Try buffalo checks and classic plaid in soft fabrics for upholstery or pillows. If you don’t need to upholster entire pieces, try custom table runners, placemats or napkins. They only require a few yards of fabric.
Instantly freshen up your home decor this season with checked pillow shams in a guest bedroom, newly upholstered dining seat cushions or a festive plaid table skirt in an entryway or eating space.
Plan on purchasing 1.5 yards per sham; 1 yard of fabric per 2 dining chairs (a bit more if you require cording) and at least 6 yards for a standard 30″ diameter table if you want the skirt to go to the floor.
